Why book a bridal trial?

Meeting for a makeup trial is an essential step in choosing the right makeup artist for you. For me, it's  the best way to get to know you, your style, your skin, and how you envision yourself on your wedding day.  It's where we discuss the possibilities and details.  The session helps us create a style that you're comfortable with, enhances your beauty, photographs well and will last for 10+ hours.  I take notes and photos for my future reference - so there's no second guessing when your wedding day arrives.  That means less stress for you.  After our time together I take it all in {your personality, wedding style, face shape, skin type etc.} and continue to think about how I might need to tweak and refine the look in order to achieve the best results.

Here are two {gorgeous} brides-to-be from recent bridal trial sessions:

Bride 1. wasn't sure she wanted lashes, so I showed her the look first with mascara only, before I added lashes.  Once the lashes were on {shown in photo}, she loved the way they looked but wanted to see if she felt comfortable wearing them for the rest of the night.  I received an email saying that she had forgotten she was even wearing them - a very good sign!  So, we will be going with the lashes on her wedding day in May {yay}.

Bride 2. is obsessed with Madmen and wanted to try a bright retro red lip {shown in photo}.  While she really loved the look, she decided she wasn't comfortable doing that for her wedding day, so we changed it to a fresh peachy color instead.  The lip is the easiest thing to change-up and can totally transform the entire look.  So, if she decides to change her mind once her wedding in September comes, it's a simple edit.

Sometimes you just won't know until you give it a try.  That's what makeup trials are all about!

If you're interested in booking a trial with me just click "say hello" to the right.  Also, you can find my rates and more makeup photos on my website.

ahhh...beholden

Today {Valentines Day of course}, BHLDN launched their gorgeous site.  I am smitten. {Pronounced} "Beholden", offers a curated collection of heirloom-style wedding gowns, bridesmaid and party dresses, and accessories including jewelry, headpieces, footwear and lingerie.  If you're lucky enough to be planning a wedding around the time Anthropoligie launched their first bridal line - I'm not gonna lie...I'm so jelly!

Oh, and to my surprise + delight, look who's smack in the center of this photo - Caroline West!  - XO's Kerry

sarah seven

I've blogged about this designer before and cannot help myself from doing it again.  She is just that spesh.  I first found Sarah Seven almost two years ago when I was searching etsy for my elopement dress.  I fell madly in love with her work.  Her designs were everything I could have ever dreamed-up.  Sadly, I found her at the very last minute and the dress would have arrived just days before our nuptials.  I couldn't risk it.

Now, it's no surprise to me that this Portland, OR based superstar is no longer on etsy.  My hope is that one of my blog readers will feel the same about her collections and be able to wear one of her pretty little frocks.

Please please please - you must tell me if you do!

P.S. Sarah lives in Portland OR and she "Put(s) A Bird On It"!  :)
