Recently, I was able to work with some charming, beautiful and creative people. My favorite hair guy, Bobbie Yanoupeth and I have been wanting to do a hair & makeup giveaway for a while now and he thought that Valentine's Day would be the perfect opportunity to make it happen. I was so pleased when Preston & Olivia and Trent Bailey Photography agreed to join in the action and helped us all get featured on Brooklyn Bride.
The Lady: I've been dyyying to do a shoot with this lovely & beautiful lady since we met more than 3 years ago, while I was doing her sister's bridal makeup. I knew she'd be perrrrfect for this shoot! I swear her smile lights-up a room and her eyes can melt your heart.
So, we had our lady, but needed to find our gent. Quickly!
The Gent: After not having much luck finding someone, Bobbie suggested "Why doesn't Justin(my man!) jump in and do the shoot!?" It actually was a great suggestion and worked - he graciously accepted the gig! Thank you sweet husband of mine! Honestly, the fact that I was able to dress him up really made me a happy gal. I mean, this might be the only time I will ever get to see him wearing a bow tie!

THE MAKEUP:
I knew I wanted to create dewy & luminous looking skin with a pop of bright color on the lip(for Valentine's Day). But the look really evolved once I pulled-together her outfit, and then considered the gorgeous Preston & Olivia hats (sold here & here) she would be wearing for the shoot later on. The look I was going for with the clothes was something feminine while being casual & cool plus a dash of city-chic. Those eyes of hers are to die for, so I also wanted them to have a balanced smokiness to ensure some attention. Bobbie and I had recently done the hair and makeup for Preston & Olivia's Fall & Holiday Collections and the designer, Dara, wanted to keep the hair similar to that sexy, undone and carefree style.
Here's a list of some of the makeup I used:
FACEatelier Ulra Foundation Pro (tip: you can buy $1. samples online to test!), mixed with a little bit of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in White Pearl, By TERRY Rose De Rose Sheer Liquid Blush in Coral Rose, Laura Mercier Book of Nudes, Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara with some Ardel lashes, and for that POP of color on her pretty lips - NARS Velvet Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl!
And yes, even my guy is wearing a little concealer and bronzer. Shhh, don't tell!
Below are some behind the scenes shots I took during our afternoon together. Ummm...I think they make a really gorrrgeous couple - don't you? Gahhh ;)
